As soon as we turn on a computer, we see the Windows desktop screen on the monitor. 🖥️ Windows is the software part of the computer.

The parts of computer we can touch are called Hardware parts. For example, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, etc. 🖱️ The parts which cannot be touched is called Software. For example, windows. 💻

MS Paint 🖌️

MS Paint is used to draw and colour pictures on the computer screen. 🎨

Here are some important facts about MS Paint:

  • 💡 MS stands for Microsoft.
  • 🖼️ MS Paint is an integral part of MS Windows. It allows you to create various drawings like flowers, trees, houses, and more, directly on your screen.

Both MS Windows and MS Paint were developed by the Microsoft Corporation.

HOW TO OPEN MS PAINT 🎨

Follow these simple steps to start MS Paint:

  1. Step 1: Place the Mouse pointer on the Windows icon button. 🖱️
  2. Step 2: On clicking the Windows icon button, the Start menu appears. 🚀
  3. Step 3: Click the option All Programs, listed in the start menu. On clicking All Programs, a new submenu appears. ✨

Step 4: Click on Accessories option in the new submenu. 🖱️

Step 5: Another submenu appears which contains Paint. Click on the Paint option.

Paint Windows appears on the computer screen.

🎨 USING THE DRAWING TOOLS

This is the MS Paint Window with various options and tools.

Here are some parts of the MS Paint window:

  • Home Tab
  • Clipboard
  • Image Group
  • Tools Group
  • Drawing Area
  • Color Group
  • Shape Group

📌 Clipboard

  • It includes various options such as Cut, Copy, and Paste.
  • The Copy option is used to make a similar copy of text or a picture created on the computer.
  • The Cut and Paste option is used to cut and then paste a copy of text or a picture on some other place or file.

🖼️ Image Group

The Image group has various commands for selecting, cropping, resizing, flipping, or rotating any image.

🛠️ Tools Group

The tools group has different tools such as Eraser, Pencil, Fill with Color, Eye-Dropper, Text, and Magnifier.

Computer Painting Tools 🎨

Eraser Tool 🧼

This tool is used to erase any drawn figure.

Pencil Tool ✏️

This tool is used to draw pictures freely.

Text Tool 📝

This tool allows you to write text in Paint.

Fill with Colour Tool 🖌️

This tool is used to fill colour into the pictures that you draw.

Magnifier 🔍

Zooming the text or picture in Paint is done by using the magnifier tool.

Shapes Group 📐

This group contains different predefined shapes such as Polygon, Line, and more.

Color Group 🌈

This group consists of different colours which are used to colour your pictures.

HOW TO DRAW AND COLOUR IN MS PAINT 🎨

Follow the steps given below to draw and colour pictures in MS Paint. ✨

  1. Step 1: Click on the 'circle' tool in the Shapes group to draw a circle.

  2. Step 2: Click on Pencil tool ✏️ in the Tools group to draw lines around the circle.

  3. Step 3: Click on the Fill with color tool 🖌️ in the Tools group.

  4. Step 4: Click on the orange colour palette 🟠 in the Colours box.

Step 5: Place the mouse pointer inside the circle and click once. 🖱️
