The Himachal range is a paradise for tourists because it has rumbling waterfalls, meandering rivers, fertile valleys, lush green grasslands and luxurious forests. Famous hill stations like Shimla, Kullu, Manali, Nainital and Mussoorie are also located here, attracting people from all over the world.
The western Himalayas are covered with snow and are colder than the eastern Himalayas. The eastern Himalayas are low in height and are not snow-covered, but they receive heavy rainfall during the monsoon season.
The three uses of the Himalayas are: They stand as a natural barrier separating India from the rest of Asia. They protect us from the dry cold winds blowing from the north. They are the source of never ending rivers, which are useful for irrigation and for generating electricity.
